rod satino for sponsoring my visit here. it's humbling, daunting. it's great privilege to be here at this national treasure of ours. not knowing what to expect coming spoo thcome ing into this. you won't see why i earned the nickname of old ether lips. i don't expect any laughter so my jokes will always miss the mark. the silence works well. i would say i want to come at this topic from three perspectives. first as something that loves films. i can't go to movie theaters because it drives me nuts. they are looking at their phones. i love old movies. this morning's session was fantastic. thank you for those insights. second, i come at it as a student of history. then finally and perhaps most difficultly and i hope some interest to you as a come boot veteran. looking at this film having seen it before i had seen combat any way then reflecting back on it. i saw it as a fairly new major. i was a student at fort leavenworth, kansas. this is after the end of the cold war. this is after somali. the people that can experience them and my case was an interes
