and so we've moved forward beyond the clash that ha, this sbury outlines -- hansbury outlines. we moved through the '60s. we saw people of color, women of all colors make strides in the 1970s and the 1980s. yet we also saw rising materialism, increased violence in inner cities, resistance to civil rights gains and cultural backlash against women. we saw the suburbs were expanding, and we also saw that the blueprint for the average american home was growing as well. inside the whole changes were occurring as women of all races became part of the paid labor force. there are and so there were a mixture of factors from -- some gains and some losses. and there were also laws and policies that were, some were enforced and some were neglected. and if i could fast forward, what i would simply say is that all of those things came together to create almost the formula for the housing crisis. and in "reimagining equality" i take you through to show you how all of those factors contributed to where we are now. but equality even though it was beginning to be realized, in many respects the h
