well, look, i'm hardly an in carl schmitt and i actually am pretty ecumenical in that i think that mostfellow americans are not the enemy. i think it's really important we distinguish between the leadership of the left and the rank and file democratic voter think most of whom actually i genuinely do believe this i'm not just a hopeless optimist. i think most rank and file democrats are good people. i think the leadership, the left has gone completely insane. and certainly what i'm talking restoring civic order, bringing back a meaningful border, raising the wages of americans just bringing back like the basic good things that we all care about in the conservative movement, then certainly are people on the left that are actively aligned against it. and i'm not afraid to call them out for the for fact. thank you. but thank you for having me, arthur. thanks for organizing. god bless, you guys. and i hope to see also see. okay. thank you very much, senator vance. joining me now is michael anton, a contributor to the edited volume, a former communications director at the national council and

schmitt: secretary mayorkas has failed to secure the border. every state is a border state.here is a humanitarian crisis at the border. there is a fentanyl crisis at the border. there's a national security crisis at the border all because secretary mayorkas has refused to enforce the law, refused to build a border wall. i'm joining my colleagues on the floor today to express the sense, the very sincere sense of the senate that secretary of homeland security mayorkas does not have the confidence of the senate and, more importantly, does not have the confidence of the american people to faithfully carry out his duties. i'm sure we've all heard the statistics, but i'll reiterate a few toil straight how horrible the situation is right now at our southern border. since joe biden took office, there's been over 7.5 million encounters nationwide and 6.2 million encounters at the southern border in addition to 1.7 million got-aways. to put that in perspective, it's hard to put those numbers in superbing alternative -- i'm a st. louis baseball cardinal fan -- that's 160 bush stadiums.

schmitt: these 13ourians co towns across the state. all of these honorees represent service,sacrifice, and and make me proud to be a missourian. the first missourian i want to honor today is detective sergeant mason griffith who was tragically killed in the line of duty in march of 2023. sergeant griffith and offic bk adam sulontrov respooneded to a call at a local gas station. when the shootout occurred, sergeant give fifth was shot and sadly killed. he served his community with distinction and truly had a servant's■ heart. in addition to serving the herman police department for 12 years, he was the chief of police in his■& hometown of rosebud reserve deputy sheriff. sergeant griffith is described as one of e helpful people. his wife jennifer and son carson and friends are up in the senate gallery here today and it was my distinct pleasure toord honorin sergeant griffith to her and him earlier today. while this is merely a small token of mine and missourians' g gratitude for youtube husband's service and sack fibersing it is my hope t
