harvard school of public health has put studies on medical malpractice years ago, about 2,000 a week. dying from that. level of competence. all you need is 5% to 10% of the physicians who are incompetent or incapacitated from practicing safe medicine and you've got hundreds and hundreds of thousands of patients who can be harmed. the second is, fraud in the health care industry. both the government accountability office and the expert on this at harvard, malcolm sparrow, have said rock bottom, 10% of all health care expenditures are drained away by computerized billing fraud and abuse. that, this year, is $350 billion of which not $10 billion is recovered by litigation or law enforcement. medicare says that $60 billion is defrauded every year and they recover maybe $2 billion or $3 billion. why? because the department of health and human services doesn't have the attorneys or investigators. their budgets are not adequate, even though $1 of law enforcement can bring in $15 of recovery because congress won't give them the budget. congress is aiding and abetting in corporate crime. congr
