we've had major problems on i-95 and on the schuylkill expressway. here on 76 westbound it was a broken down vehicle that they just got pushed off to the side. police and penndot are helping the disabled motorist. both lanes are open as you come westbound hitting a solid jam from city avenue to the scene, speeds like 11 miles per hour. already this morning we're jammed in the westbound schuylkill expressway. overnight accident that we had on the eastbound and westbound side of the girard they are gone. coming into the city you might want to use the schuylkill expressway instead of the river drive. the benjamin franklin parkway is shut down entirely. not only the inner drives, now it's the inner and outer drives, expect a mess than we saw late last week. benjamin franklin parkway out of commission for preparations for the papal visit this weekend. can you believe we're saying this weekend? i-95 southbound we have an disernt cause -- accident causing a mess approaching cottman. two right lanes squeezing by, a solid jam coming down from woodhaven frankf

schuylkill expressway now down to the 30's, about 36 miles an hour on the schuylkill westbound from the to past belmont, about 30 miles an hour eastbound on the schuylkill expressway as you approach girard so slower speeds there. i just got off the phone with police in chester county and they're telling me about an accident here involving a tractor-trailer. it's causing a problem. they have shut down route 41, gap newport pike, route 41 is shut down right now. you want to watch for that shut down between route one and route 841. this accident is closing this roadway because of an accident involving a tractor-trailer. you can stick to 841 as your alternate to get around the closure. that one is a big one we're following right now matt and tam. >> thank you karen. >>> yesterday the tickets to see pope francis on independence mall went in a flash. now you will get a second shot at tickets today for the pope's appearance on the parkway but evidence suggests you might want to hurry. you have the the schuylkill river.lly university city here and the hospitals, and drexel, and so much going on with university of pennsylvania, and then the other side you have all of center city and housing. but then when you go north and south it is a much different look along the schuylkill. >> that is one of the strength of the schuylkill river trail it goes from urban, rural, suburban areas. it connects from here to pottsville, 130 miles, so it is just var aid along the entire length, tons of partners working on it. that is why it is a significant trail. >> work is not done yet, you have 2040 as an estimated completion date. >> it is a long term vision. we have a lot of great things going on. there is a lot of great work happening in the philadelphia area. we have big gaps from schuylkill, berks counties and we are working on completing those and when we get our state partners and federal partners together there is no reason we cannot have a 130-mile trail completed. >> in one hour from now you will have a celebra

you can see the schuylkill moving.e drive times we are seeing a 30-minute drive time on the westbound side between the vine to the blue route. we average speeds of 23 miles per hour. this is what it typically should look like. we should be only about 20 minutes and still in the yellow so this is eastbound into the center city area. you get to center city no problems. give yourself extra time westbound to the king of prussia area. more on this when i come back in the next ten minutes. >> preparing for the pope means moving cars. we are five days away from pope francis' arrival in philadelphia. the crews are already towing cars on city streets. in a few hours another portion of the pope zone will be off limits to parking. matt delucia is live in philadelphia along the ben franklin parkway to fill us in. >> reporter: towing is under way. we're at 22nd and the parkway. it's shut down, some cars are able to get through some of the side streets for the moment but parking, that could be an issue as the days go by. it's a no p
