chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz has more on the timing and the impact this storm will have on your neighborhood. >> the timing is in our favor because we don't have to deal with the afternoon rush. the cameras shaking because the wind is increasing ahead of that storm system. we have a few blips on radar north and west of reading but the main area still way back to the west. tremendous thunderstorms down near virginia. the worse of that system looks like it's going to track to our south and also because it's in the middle of the night it'll be less potent than it is right now. by 10:00 we're starting to see a little bit of the rain moving in but by midnight we're really getting slammed and some folks are going to be woken up by this because it's going to be showers and thunderstorms with some very heavy rain, maybe another batch here at 2:00 in the morning. pretty active between midnight and 4:00 a.m. things are already quieting down by 6:00 a.m. that's just the first round of storms this week. i'll tell you about the rest coming up. >>> right now a teenage girl is sti

glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with the forecast, glenn. >> yeah. with the type of conditions we have a lot of fog at the shore. there is so much humidity that is coming over those cool ocean waters. we have had a fair amount of sunshine around the philadelphia area. the winds are coming from the southeast, so that's helping to warm us up along with the sunshine. you can see the fog bank along cape may county. it has been a lot of sunshine in the philadelphia area and points to the south. the clouds are mostly up from the lehigh valley and upper bucks county. there is a whole lot more cloud cover back to the west. nothing too organized. one batch of that might be coming in overnight tonight, generally after midnight and gone by the morning rush. right now it's 71 degrees in philadelphia. it is 66 in potstown. as we go through the rest of the day we are well into the 70s. we don't really drop very much tonight. it will be a very warm night for this time of the year. the pa suburbs and lehigh valley only down to 62 degrees by morning. after midnight w

meteorologist glenn schwartz is tracking where the system is and where it's headed next. >> we have seen quite a change just over the last hour in philadelphia. we had tremendous downpours and now the rain is just about to end. look at delaware. not a drop. and the sun is coming out. here's the back edge. just hitting south philly. but we still have rain over most of the city. lower bucs county and also burlington county, glosser county getting heavy rain. a solid heavy rain from allentown up to lehigh and easton. not as heavy as it was farther to the south an hour ago. we're talking still this time about less than an inch per hour. that's not as much of a threat as we saw earlier. how fast this is moving out. that's just one hour of a time lapse. we have some showers that may be headed towards southern delaware. . but for the most part we have seen the worst and as we go through the night tonight there's leftover showers north and west. not much to add to the problems. >> we have damage reports all over. down the eastern sea board. take a look at this. this is just today. this didn't in

let's start with glenn "hurricane" schwartz. tomorrow won't be bad, right?ow is going to be great. but thursday we have some trouble. we have a first alert for the entire viewing area for pretty much the entire day for periods of heavy rain, localized flooding and possible severe thunderstorms with damaging winds in some places. too bad the phillies aren't playing tomorrow. we have a weird weather situation here. we've got east winds on one side, west winds on the other and a huge temperature contrast. 50 in trenton and near 70 in philadelphia. and even within the city of philadelphia, this is pretty amazing, too. well, 70 in center city for example it's 53 in northeast philly, 54 in parkwood within the same city. we've got a 16-degree temperature difference. a few showers in the poconos but that's not the big deal. this is the big deal. look at the swirl in this thing. that's a giant storm system and that's the one that's going to be affecting us as we go into thursday. so no problems for wednesday. wednesday night, the clouds come in and thursday morning,
