nbc's gadi schwartz joins us now with the very latest.heriff's department heading out to where this horrible tragedy happened. it is just one of several sheriff's departments that have been sending dive teams to assist in this monumental task. right now that 75 foot boat, the conception, is sitting on the sea floor upside down, so it is a perilous recovery operation, and the loss of life out here is just hard to get your mind around. we're talking about 34 people, right now 25 authorities are confirming have died. nine of them are still missing, and the only people that seem to have been able to make it off that boat alive are five members of the crew including a captain. they were able to jump overboard, swim to the back of the boat where there was an inflatable dinghy. they got on that dinghy, and then they made their way to another boat that was anchored nearby. the captain of that boat saying those men were absolutely inconsolab inconsolable. one of them said that he -- his girlfriend was down below deck. others were saying that there
