by what many before scott's group started in there that many now. and what is taxable and is defined as taxation has all changed. and the point is that these are out-of-state. it's not all internet sales and are not collected for her. it is from a company that has no precedence within the state. so they have no employees, no facilities in that state. they have no political power in the state. they get none of the benefit from any of the schools, fire, police. yet they are being asked to become unpaid tax collect collectors. and we think that it's not fair. we think that puts a burden on them, an unfair burden on them. the taxes due in the states do everything to collect taxes from internet and from catalog sales as well, for remote sales is probably a better way to say it. alabama just sent out a letter to everyone in the receipt they think one third of the people who received the letter sent back and statements. other states have things on air, land lines on their income tax. there are ways to try for states to look at this, rather than throwing an

scott joins us with more. >> reporter: scary moments indeed. the video you just showed is disturbing. though nobody in the video gets hurt. a man, whose wife was fired by the school board in florida's panama city, painted the figure v from the movie v for vendetta at a school board meeting. then he fired at least two shots. nobody hit in this, but a security guard later exchanged fire with the man, 56-year-old clay duke, wounding him. he then shot himself and died. now, several of those at the meeting will be on the "today" show about an hour from now. >> that guy had a mission. he had already told us he was going to die. he told us he was going to kill himself basically. he was going to try to do the same to us. and it's just -- i feel so sorry for his family and what they're going through right now. it's just a terrible tragedy. >> now, again, no one on the school board was hit. the man had a criminal record. just scary moments, brent, that could have been much, much more tragic. >> yeah, that was some really frightening stuff there at that s

scott, there you are live? >> reporter: yes, i am. this is a dramatic search going on in this area of suitland tonight. this incident scene is cross the street from the census bureau and you can see across the street all of the police activity still going on. this is where at 5:00 this evening a prince george's county police officer walked up on a robbery suspect in an attempt to investigate a previous robbery. according to police here, the suspect pulled out a handgun, fired at the officer. the officer fired back. now thankfully the officer was not injured and the suspect fled. police believe he also was not hit by gunfire. since then, police have literally shut down this area of suitland. you can see silver hill road here, traffic backed up, swan road closed, sections of suitland road are also closed in this area tonight as this manhunt continues. they are looking for a young african-american man in his 20s. he's wearing a purple north face parka style jacket and white pants and they are scouring the area looking for him. he had a h

now, we're going to check in with scott broom who is on snow patrol in maryland, scott? >> reporter: well, it was a tough day as well here in prince george's county. they also decided to dismiss schools two hours early, but the kids, they all came out hitting the streets right at the worst part of the storm, which caused a lot of parents to second guess the decision to have schools to start with today. it was made worse when a school bus carrying students from the high school hit a county snowplow. and the plow driver was injured and one student had a suspected asthma attack, sending both to the hospital. school support services chief explains the days decisions. >> we make a call based on what we see with the precipitation that is actually in place. >> wile kids were hitting the snowy streets early, elsewhere, traffic incidents were widespread. like here on this road where the motorists lost it on a curve. >> yes, i am shook up. i didn't know what was happening. it just happened so fast. >> reporter: the good news tonight is that they have had a lot of time to salt sinc
