scott gottlieb. scott, good to have you here. you've been predicting all along this was going to be worse than a lot of people in washington were saying. now that's turned out to be true. is the administration finally getting its arms around the extent of this problem? >> i think they're finally recognizing the scope of the problem here and abroad. for example, in the case in dallas, cdc underestimated how hard it would be in a hospital to handle a hot path general without experience. it may be the case our health care workers are at greater risk by virtue of the fact when we deliver critical care here, we are more invasive and create more risk. >> when you say more invasive, what does that mean? we would think we're so much more advanced, have experience with these teams and with protecting health care workers. why would it be worse? >> frieden cited intubation and dialysis. if you think about what we do in critical care setting, putting a breathing tube down the throat, there's frequent blood draws, bed changes, even an ng tube

scott walker is a 2016 prospect. if you're a democrat and stop him here, you are stopping a republican presidential candidate, as well. moving on to the third most vulnerable republican incumbent, rick scott. now, there's been movement here because if you looked at this a month ago, rick scott would have been ahead in this average. he's now fallen behind. the story here is rick scott spent $25 million this summer/early fall when charlie crist was not on the air, savaging charlie crist. he pulled ahead by a few points. now charlie crist has a slight lead. the second most vulnerable. lepage, he's actually a little closer. >> he's got the three-way race again. >> exactly what it is. the reason why we say he's more vulnerable even though he's closer than the other republicans is the assumption is 38.5 is about as high as he's going to get. that's the ceiling. the question is, how split is it going to be between it have democrat and elliott cutler, the republican. he lost by a point to paul lepage. is he going to fade out

nd a lot of it is because it's rick scott. -- they hate rick scott and they want to win. so kind of one of the amazing stories of this year is that who was able to coast to the democratic nomination. he had a primary opponent but not a credible one and has the support and backing of everyone here. but what is interesting and is becoming an issue is that unlike other democrats in marginal states where the president's approval rating has taken a hit, those governors have tried to distance themselves from obama. on the health care law, on a lot of the unpopular stuff. charlie has actually gotten closer to obama. he's someone who want obama to campaign with him eevep though it probably wouldn't be that helpful for him politically but that's their mentality. and because he is trying to shore up the democratic base for voters like the caller he has kind of praised obamacare repeatedly said it's great and that helped him shore up the democratic base but now that might make the difference with the independent call we are heard from earlier. which is do you want an obama democrat
