we caught up with scott late again yesterday.w by asking him what was happening in bonds and who is buying bonds that is pushing the yields down? >> you know, brian, you may remember in early march, i wrote a piece called "a drunkman in the snow." i talked about the meme reversion and the 35-year plus bond rally had not ended the down trend was solidly in po place. until we had something to indicate we were breaking this trend and our expectation should be rates should come back down there are other factors that, you know, i talk about the treasury would spend down the cash balance to force a lot of cash in the market which would force banks and other institutions to reach out the yield curve to find any kind of yield. it seems to have all played out that way. >> is that who is doing the buying in your mind? wall street banks? pension funds or foreign sovereigns >> i think it is all of the above. a lot of money coming in from overseas we are still, you know, perhaps the highest yielding market in the developed markets. there's pe

what's going on with you today >> well, a couple of things, scott. i've been watching apple really closely. had 12 unusual hits in the last two weeks in there, which stock was starting off at $129 a share back on june 14th. it's obviously been running. we've been tracking that everybody tracking that. but gow back to just a week and a half ago they were buying the july 137 strike calls, scott and the stock was significantly lower and the stock exploded since. on tuesday they were bayingo buying the july 149 calls. they continue to extend up because of that when the stock actually was getting hit pretty hard today -- on tuesday the stock got up to 143. yesterday it was almost 145. today it pulled back and was opening at 141 and i was watching it a really long time and kind of hovered around there i decided, up what, i think apple makes a lot of sense all the bullish activity not just in july but further out, makes a lot of sense to me still that one was just a gut reaction it wasn't based on today's unusual. it was based on all of the unusual options

again, scott, these names, sure. the issue here is a lot of the time i want people to fully understand when i say those names, and we talked about this many times, i'm talking about options only i don't care whether it's peloton, snow flake or whatever, i'm not interested in being involved in the stocks themselves i would much rather have control and be able to put on a call or call spread or on the flip side of it. believe it or not in arc today somebody had a very good trade they were taking off on the puts because that entity has take ep a pretty decent hit in the month of july. right now that trade turns out to be very smart even though they rolled it they were buying the 105 puts taking off the bigger end of things and still wanting to be there in case we get more of a pullback with some of those stocks that are those innovation stocks we're talking about here. i think we'll continue to see the wild ride especially when we talk about volatility. things are starting to look diffe differently than where they were
