i ended up going to massachusetts and scott brown was elected what is known as the kennedy seat in the united states senate for massachusetts. he pledged to vote no and kill obamacare. that made it the veto proof republican minority in the senate. most people thought on that night that obamacare was dead. that was january 19 last year. well, subsequent to that, the president held a health care summit at the blair house february 25. that's where he identified his health care plan as obamacare. and in that health care summit there were certain selected republicans that were invited to sit with the democrats around this big table and there were rules. of course, the rules applied to people differently. the president interrupted republicans 72 times. somehow he got his mojo back. somehow they put together this legal maneuvering to be able to bring legislation here and say they got it. they got it passed. i am not taking that issue. the then chair of the rules committee wanted to just deem obamacare passed because they didn't want to take a vote on it. they couldn't get the votes out of the

brown. it's back to work for congress today. the house is taking up president obama's health care overhaul. a vote to repeal is scheduled for tomorrow. scott goldberg is in washington with more. >> reporter: good morning. members of congress who promise to bring more civility to politics will get their first real test today as the new republican majority in the house moves forward with its pledge to try to repeal one of president obama's signature legislative accomplishments. republicans are moving ahead with plans to repeal president obama's health care law. >> the real problem in health care is it costs too much and what we've done is expanded the coverage but haven't worked on the cost. >> reporter: today house lawmakers will begin debate with a vote set for tomorrow. the gop favors repealing the measure completely, while democrats are determined to keep at least the major provisions intact. >> are the tax cuts for small businesses not something we can all agree on? i think it is. >> reporter: lawmakers postponed the issue last week following the arizona shooting rampage which left six dead and congresswoman gabrielle giffords criticall
