nbc bay area's scott budman has more. >> reporter: skorz bar in pittsburg has been closed since june 11th. that's the day the contra costa county d.a.'s office says it found skorz open and serving alcohol weeks after it was supposed to be closed under the county health order. today the d.a. filed charges. >> this is actually the first time we've filed criminal charges. >> reporter: the charges include remaining open during the pandemic. >> and only essential businesses can be open and, unfortunately in this case, this business was not an essential business and was open, which is a violation of the order. >> reporter: the bar's owner, kim dixon, was charged along with the bartender for serving alcohol with a suspended license. >> partially what we're doing is surviving. >> reporter: dixon says the county got it wrong. she was only alcohol to friends and family members and hadn her. >> it was a warm day. she a something to drink. i went into the back room and i got it for her. that's the extent of it. >> reporter: the d.a.'s office says if found guilty they will be fined. jail time is
