nbc's scott cohn is on the ground in sacramento. ot of clubs and restaurants, one about a block away from here. and this apparently it happened at 2:00 this morning, and nine hours after the fact, we, authorities, more importantly, are still trying to piece a lot of this together. in fact, the sacramento police department is asking the public for any video, cell phone video, social media video that's been out there that shows some of the gunfire that appears to be at least semiautomatic weapons fire and return fire that happened around the time that the clubs were closing, about 2:00 this afternoon. soon after that, friends and relatives gathered at the scene, obviously distraught. they've now set up a center for them at city hall, not far from here, to try to get them some information, which has been very difficult in coming. what we do know, according to authorities is that six people are confirmed dead. we believe ten people injured, some of them still being treated at area hospitals. and we're waiting for some more official word,

cnbc's special correspondent, scott cohn, live at the scene of the shooting for us tonight. scott. >> reporter: shep, police here in sacramento say they have arrested 26-year-old dondre martin we have a pick tuture of him fra previous arrest in arizona in 2018 the arrest here on firearms and assault charges. it is not clear, though, what role, if any, he played in the attack police have said that there were multiple shooters. in fact the real key to explaining what happened here at the corner of 10th and k may be above us that police surveillance camera up there, which they do say did record some images of the attack in the wee hours of yesterday morning. those images not yet made public, but the images from here on the ground that are public, those are downright chilling just after closing time in the heart of sacramento's entertainment district, first a fight which may or may not be related. then, the gunfire continuing for nearly a minute. when it was over, six dead, including pamela harris' son, sergio, a father, just 38 years old. >> he has two young daughters that love
