joining us now scott galloway, professor of marketing at nyu stern school of business. scott, i am wondering what jumps out at you from these papers. i mean, they really seem to show time and time again, facebook knowingly put profit before public safety. >> yeah. it's sort of more from individuals to really more their business model. and the structure of the business and the culture that you have a company that knowingly has let algorithms kind of run unfettered to elevate content, distinct the fact that it might result in insurrection, might result in human trafficking, might result in much lower vaccination rates. and kind of this delay and obfuscation and hide the ball, such that they can continue to engage in this kind of massive profitability that that type of unfortunate elevation of oftentimes misinformation results in. i mean, this really is a bombshell report here. >> do you think there is -- i mean, whether it comes from outside or inside, do you think they are, from inside, capable of making changes? >> you know, it's interesting. we are waiting on legislator

joining us now, scott galloway. co-host of the pivot podcast. scott, facebook has obviously weathered plenty of controversy. you think this time, though, is different? >> yeah, let me be clear, though. you know, i've gotten this wrong a lot. i wonder if there's seven or eight lives into their nine lives. but i think specifically in the '80s and '90s mothers against drunk driving rallied together and enforced legislation that would restrict or withhold federal funds for highways. and we saw real -- we saw all the states raise their age limits. i wonder if a lot of moms out there have finally said, okay, i am not going to experience the terror of having my child be depressed. and it's clear that they don't care about our children, and they can ramp up or ramp down rage. and i wonder if this is kind of the ninth life here. that -- that moms are going to bind together or more loosely speaking, parents, and say, you know, at some point enough is enough. i have been wrong so far, anderson. but i'd like to think that this is a bridge too far. that we mi

joining us now to talk about that is scott galloway, professor at nyu marketing school of business where scott, this "wall street journal" report that facebook has slow -- slowed the rollout of some new products. is that significant do you think? >> you know, i feel as if it's kind of the -- it's their go-to. delay and obfuscation. and what strikes me is we're very focused on what facebook is or isn't going to do, whereas that's the wrong question. we should be asking, what are we going to do? they go to this playbook of delay and obfuscation, wait until the hysteria calms down or the discourse calms down and they go right back to what they do, which is enraging us. so i think the better question is what are we going to do? >> do you think people -- you know, people's attention lasts very short on these sorts of things. and as you said, you know, another outrage or another thing comes along the following day and people move on. and -- and they like -- you know, people use facebook. >> yeah, but supposedly, we elect this body called or senators and our congresspeople to think long-term fo
