. >> scott heidler has the latest for us in bangkok. >> the prime minister's office clarified on thursday what the prime minister meant to say on wins afternoon when he was recorded as saying that this was not a terrorist attack on the shrine in bangkok. they say what he meant to say, what he was trying to get across was there was no definitive evidence pointing to terrorism in the early stages of the investigation. we spoke with administration officials on wednesday afternoon, and he said that there was physical evidence from that point, that points to it being made here in thailand. obviously this is early stages. there's a lot of material that feeds to be filtered through. the physical evidence from the blast. the evidence that might be in the bodies and body parts. from monday evening. that is ongoing. the prime minister's office is saying there's no proof that it was there, and they are investigating evidence as they move forward with this. also what we do know is they are searching for one key suspect. his face has been plastered across tv, newspapers and social media. they offered

scott heidler has the latest. >> national police confirmed that they have reached out to interpol for assistance in tracking down the key suspect in the bombing, the deadly bombing on monday. they have given them information about the suspect, and have not heard from interpol, but are looking for that assistance in tracking down one individual. there are two people that they are looking for, questioned. they were revealed in the closed-circuit television camera footage from the blast site on monday. they haven't said that they are suspects, but they are interested in speaking with them. we know, coming out over the last several hours on thursday, and on wednesday, that the administration here in thailand, as well as the police, do not believe that the attack has any direction with an international organization. there's no evidence to prove that. we are at the early stages of the increase, but at this stage there's no connection between what happened in thailand and international terror groups, but they believe there was a network behind the attack, and are seeking out other individual

scott heidler joins me now on the line from bangkok. scott, what can you tell us? >> we know that the police aren't confirming if the gentleman they have arrested is that same person that's been a key suspect closed in the -- captured in the closed circuit television footage. foreigner. they arrested him in an apartment on the outskirts of bangkok and in that arrest, they also seized bomb making materials. and it took place on saturday here in bangkok. one thing that was interesting that came out on local media while they did this, while they were briefing the media, police held up a picture of what appeared to be a bag of ball bearings. now, this is something that was used in that bomb that killed 20 people 12 days ago. if these are definitely connected, we don't know that, but obviously, this is the first break for the police in this case because there really hasn't been mistaken many major developments. they had people brought in for questioning but no major developments in the 12 days since this bombing took place. this is the first arrest and this is the most
