>> scott macfarlane is breaking the story right now from our live desk. scott? >> the federal government says in northwest d.c. they have intense security on par with the pentagon and the white house yet this is the second time in the past four weeks a worker has been cuffed for carrying a handgun inside. his name is thomas presley, police say, from woodbridge, virginia. we're told he works i.t. he was stopped for a random screening inside and they found a handgun in his bag which was fully functional and capable of being fired with one hand. he's in jail in d.c. until the court hearing on friday morning in this case. his arrest comes a month after the case of an employee whose home was raided i west virginia. in both cases, investigators say the men were stopped in what they called random employee screenings. prosecutors are awaiting a decision from the grand jury in jonathan winkey's case. no injuries or gunshots reported in either case. no response yet from pressley's attorney. more as we get it on the nbc washington app. for now, i'm scott macfarlane. >>> no

scott macfarlane broke the story first online and then now. scott? >> reporter: this is a bold#d&r unique scheme. d.c. the new york city man sentenced to two years in prison and prosecutors detailed two different ways in which he conspired to victimize people that were celebrities or local powerful officials. the first way is by so-called-ñ swatting. the man who pleaded guilty and was sentenced today from new york citykhfs is about 20 different swatting victims, including a congressman from michigan, a federal prosecutor from massachusetts and news4 learned one of the victims, the head of the nra, wayneúph lapierre swatted. that1tÑ convinces local law enforcement to show upl8f at t in some cases to detain them. wayne lapierre says when he was swatted in 2013, police showed up with guns at his virginia home and briefly detained him. there's another component to this scheme. so-called docksing, taking the credit reports of famous people and putting them online. he admitted that his conspiracy did that and hundreds of thousands of people did that to lo
