i'm scott mcgrew. the security world is dealing with what one news agency is called the hydrogen bomb of cyber warfare. interesting they should choose a nuclear metaphor. the viruses is called do-q and experts say it appears to be written by the same shadowing organization that wrote the stucks net worm. a digital code used to attack the computers controlling iran's nuclear industry. it's been said, possibly the israelis or even the united states may have been behind that stuck's net attack. a far cry from the annoying day-to-day goblins that hackers use to attack personal computers. symantec the global security company was the first to the publicize the existence of this new threat. one of self that hit major several national assets. google and several defense contractors have repeatedly been attacked by agencies of a foreign country. google says it's likely china. enrique salem is head of symantec, the largest security software company in the world and he also sits on president obama's management adv

scott mcgrew says accusations. >> now the watergate scandal is not.ok worse than the original crime. cnbc took a look at old press releases about solar energy loans and the department of energy's website. they found the references were removed. he got a controversial doe loan. the conservative national review says the obama administration is caught red handed. this comes as the doe has been embarrassed by the solyndra scandal. solyndra and sun power got clean energy loans. these loans were risky. he said that before he resigned. other news adobe is fixing a law that could allow someone to watch you through your webcam ra without you knowing. a stanford student figured it out. you can click on something and then unbethoens to you turns on your webcam. once adobe gets it fixed, you don't have to do anything at home. it will just be done. he didn't mean harm by it. >> it is 6:26. still to come on "today in the bay." the hunt is over for a rich mand security guard after he opened fire on his coworker. police have apprehended the suspect. we'll have a live

scott mcgrew says accusations it rewrote press release. as far as we know, coverups look worse than the original crimes. we looked at press releases about solar energy loans. references to san jose's sun power was removed. here we see video of solyndra. sun power got a controversial loan that conservative national review says, quote, the obama administration has been caught red handed. now that's probably a bit extreme. there is, after all, no law against monkeying with old press releases. but it is a bit suspicious. this comes as the doe is embarrassed by the solyndra scandal. the head of the loans pointed out, you know, these loans are risky. he said that before he resigned. >>> other news, san jose's adobe says it's fixing a flaw that could theoretically allow someone to watch you through your webcam ra without someone knowing. a trick to this click something unbeknownst to you would turn on your webcam ra. you don't have to fix anything on your own computer. we have no proof anyone has done this. but webcams freak me out a little bit.

scott mcgrew has more from jobs' official biography. >> according to the book by walter isaacson that comes out monday, jobs refused the surgery for nine months, even though his family begged him to do it. instead he opted for alternative medicine. by the time he decided to go through that operation, the form of rare pancreatic cancer had spread. he also said that google's android phones were, quote, a stolen product. remember, the head of google is was on the board at apple when jobs said this about the android phones. jobs said he would destroy android and then you have this picture of jobs talking to president obama. we now know, according to the book again, that he told president obama he would be a one-term president. this, according to someone who says they've read that book. and then criticized american manufacturing, saying the u.s. should, quote, adopt the lax rules and regulations found in china, where apple products are made. back to you. >> scott, thanks. >>> new study suggests cell phones don't cause brain cancer adding more evidence to a hotly debated product. the study

scott mcgrew has been following this story from its earliest moments and say the military is taking this one very seriously. >> good morning to you. those three marines who fought alongside harry liu have been court-martialed. it means they're in military trial. it doesn't mean they've been convicted yet. if they are, the three face years in a military prison. one for as long as 6 1/2 years. harry liu joined the marines shortly after graduating santa clara high school. he died in afghanistan. we didn't know why. then horrific allegations of beating and abuse were uncovered, at the hands of his fellow marines. one marine kicked dirt on lew, kicked him in the back of the helmet, punched him in the back of the helmet with a force that cut his attacker's knuckle. shortly after that beating lew, quote, leaned over his m-249 squad automatic weapon as it pointed to the sky, placed the muzzle in his mouth and pulled the trigger. it's a very sad story on all sides. marines very angry after lew fell asleep on guard duty not once, not twice, but four times in the most dangerous province in afghanis
