i'm scott mcgrew. >> i'm kris sanchez. new details now. shots fired overnight at california highway on a south bay freeway. bob redell finished talking to police. what's the latest here? >> san jose police, we did just speak with them. they are heading up the investigation into who shot at two california high way patrol officers. this was overnight, down there. you're looking at northbound 101 near tully road in san jose. this was as they were in the middle of a traffic stop alongside the road. they still have not found this person. it was around 11:30 last night. one of the officers was inside the patrol car, the other outside conducting the stop. they heard a loud noise, saw a flash, quickly realized they were being fired at at least one of the bullets struck the patrol car with the officer inside. it's still not clear where those shots came from. >> we don't know for certain that this was a targeted attack. we understand in law enforcement that there are some dangers that are inherent in the work we do. we also do realize the reality th
