counsel robert mueller is charging michael flynn with making a false statement to the fbi. >>> scott mcgrewre on this breaking story. scott? >> this is just breaking. this is enormous, charging the former u.s. national security adviser, michael flynn with making false statements. he is expected in court at 7:30 our time. an hour from now, here you see michael flynn at the republican national convention. he would later become the national security adviser for just a couple of days. he and his son had been under investigation by robert mueller, the specific prosecutor for quite some time now. now, we are learning that not only has michael flynn, the national security adviser, the former national security adviser been charged with lying to the fbi, it is our understanding that he will plead guilty in the court today, which would seem to indicate to us, marcus and laura, that we are talking about a plea deal and we are talking about cooperation. obviously, that's speculation. it would appear to be that is the case and if that is the case, that is enormous. again, michael flynn charges with lyin

the tax cuts are now headed to the president's desk where scott mcgrew, he's going to sign it. >> that's right. not today. republicans are headed to the white house for a celebration and press conference. this morning's vote once again approved the tax bill which got a few adjustments and a new name. it's going to add $1.5 trillion to the deficit over the next ten years according to the joint committee on taxation. republicans hope it will spark the economy to get even stronger. here is president trump shortly before the vote. >> that's going to be tremendous for people. they're going to start seeing the results in february. this bill means more take-home pay. it will be an incredible christmas gift for hardworking americans. i said i wanted to have it done before christmas. we got it done. we've become competitive all over the world. our companies won't be leashing our country any longer because our tax burden is so high. now we're down towards the bottom, instead of being the highest. >> the president said this tax

scott mcgrew? >> the tax cuts are particularly good for corporations and the rich. you are seeing that in the markets. the dow closed for a record high on monday. twitter was up enormously as the san francisco company kicked the alt right and white extremists off their account. president trump tweeted facts in the economy have a long way to go after the tax cut bill is totally understood and appreciated. enjoy and create many beautiful jobs. meantime, the fed has started to fight some of the growth we are seeing in the markets and in the economy. remember, it raised rates. says it's going to raise them again. president trump will probably turn against the fed. fed governors think they are hitting the brakes too fast. neel warned hikes could push the economy into a recession. facebook says it received far more government requests for user data in the first half of 2017 than the last half of 2016. it's up 27% or 44,000 users. facebook is allowed to tell how many government requests they got. not much more beyond that. we don't know what to do with these numbers other

. >> a tweet, scott mcgrew, that indicates the president obstructed justice. >> you can see why they are scrambling. president trump tweeted about all kinds of things trying to walk back this. a tweet from saturday, the important sentence is the very first one. i had to fire general flynn because he lied to the president and to the fbi. the problem here is the time line. the president says he fired flynn because he lied to the fbi and that firing was february 13th. february 14th, the fbi director, james comey says trump asked him to go easy on flynn. i hope you can let it go, the president reportedly said. trump denies that conversation took place. it's his word over the then director of the fbi. the white house says trump never wrote that tweet, his lawyer did. why his lawyer would take over the presidential twitter to write a tweet that implicated his own client in obstruction is a bit hazy this morning. the president is supporting roy moore, the man accused of sexual misconduct of a 14-year-old running for senate in alabama. trump says we need roy moore to win alabama. moore tweet

scott mcgrew, paul manafort was already facing serious charges. >> reporter: that's right. he was under house arrest in the whole ankle monitor and everything, but he wants out. and special prosecutor robert mueller originally told the judge that would be okay, except manafort seems to have broken one of the court's rules. the prosecution now alleges the former trump campaign manager worked in secret with another man to write a newspaper op-ed piece defending manafort's actions in ukraine where he worked as a political adviser. that would violate the judge's gag order. don't talk about the charges or the trial. worse, according to mueller's paperwork, manafort's writing partner is connected to the russian spy agency. >>> also new this mornings, bloomberg reports that mueller has subpoenaed deutsch bank looking for president trump's personal financial records. we know president trump's own company owes the bank more than $100 million. now we don't know what mueller is looking for specifically, but the important part is the investigation has now apparently moved into presiden

scott mcgrew, how is that possible? >> it depends on your income, kris and marcus and whether you hope to buy a house. we have very high state taxes here. they will be less deductible. congress capped how much mortgage interest you can deduct to $750,000. we have expensive homes in california. the company says 58% of the homes sold in san francisco have mortgages above $750,000. in santa clara county, it's 55%. if you have a house, you escape the higher tax. if you hope to have a house, you don't. lots of politicians use california and san francisco, in particular, as an example of the taxes and mortgages. a lot of us don't feel that rich. here is texas senator, ted cruz on the floor of the senate. >> the middle class, their taxes are all going down, working class, their taxes are going down. every taxpayer, their taxes are going down except rich people in san francisco, their taxes may go up. the median income $78,000, rich according to american standards. on the stock market watch stitchfix. they are debuting on the n

. >> scott mcgrew joins us now. >> they need to hurry, this new tax year is coming january 1st. while they can make it retroactive they would prefer not to. the two sides of congress, the house and the senate, passed different tax bills so they had to get together, find common ground and they've accomplished that. what we haven't actually seen is the text of the new tax bill and we probably will not until friday. here is california with our high taxes, our high salaries generally and our expensive houses, this really could affect us. so we have a lot of questions, right? will we still be able to deduct what we pay in property taxes. we're almost certain the answer is yes up to a limit and the same is the case for our mortgage interest rates. and then salt, that's state and local taxes, will we be able to deduct what we pay to california from our federal taxes? we've seen hints about this out of washington, but we have not seen the actual bill. now, the republicans in the senate want to hurry and make sure that they
