i'm scott mcgrew. >> i'm kris sanchez. maybe they're defrosting their turkey. hopefully that's already in the works. >> good morning. we're still spotting a couple showers. you can see it on our mobile doppler radar. as you know, it's the only mobile doppler radar in the area. you can see the storm off to the east as it continues to push on through. all of these lightning strikes you see here, this is where we see the area of concern more or less for the sierra. i'll talk about that in just a little bit because i want to show you what the current temperatures are looking like. today we are expecting to only climb into the 60s. we're not off to a very cold start. 57 degrees in san jose. 57 in hayward. 56 in san francisco. i'll give you a quick overview of when that second storm system is expected to make it's way in but let's get a check of the roads because there is still that concern over these slick road conditions. you can see, i've overlaid the radar on our traffic maps. that's the screen you spot here. these are areas that might be catching a couple shower

"the times" says facebook knew about russian interference on its site and in the american presidential election long before it let on. remember, mark zuckerberg once said he thought that idea was crazy. apparently even then, according to "the times" facebook knew more than it was letting on. the report says facebook quashed the information because it feared talking about it would anger conservatives. it also says facebook hired a special pr firm to discredit its critics by claiming they were really working for billionaire george soros. this is incredibly ironic. facebook using soros as a boogieman the same way that republicans do. he's the person conservatives blame for the caravan. now, according to "the times" also the person facebook blamed for its anti-semitic sentiment. this morning buzzfeed reports one of soros' top aides is calling for an investigation into facebook, an

. >> scott mcgrew joins us to walk us through some of the changes. >> good morning.sident trump is directing immigrants who want to apply for asylum to go through one of america's official ports of entry. now, ports of entry are all over the place. in fact, there are five in san diego alone, where it shares the border with mexico. now, it used to be you could cross pretty much almost anywhere and apply for asylum, so long as you were able to give credible evidence you were fleeing oppression. even if you were to cross not where you were supposed to, at a port of entry. under trump's new order, you can still ask for asylum, but only at a port of entry. cross somewhere else, and you're giving up your right to that asylum. the president did this to try to handle the influx of people were the so-called caravan. there is some doubt this morning whether the change in rules is legal. can the president do this on his own? president trump points to past instances in the reagan and george h.w. bush administrations where something similar took place. and, of course, president o

. >> and i'm scott mcgrew. marcus has the day off. it is a developing story out of detroit. a couple hours ago general motors announced a restructuring plan. this even after the company received billions of taxpayers' money to bail it out during the recession. some of the 14,000 americans losing their jobs are the very same blue collar workforce who helped send president trump to washington. here is what we know so far, gm says it wants to focus on out mouse and electric vehicles and this plan is going to help them do that. it will close factories in canada, south korea and here in the united states cutting 15% or about 14,000 jobs in north america. three plants in michigan and ohio will shut down, places heavily dependent on auto jobs. one facility in maryland will also close. there are reports this midday three models will be axed, the company will unplug the chef volt, the impala and the cruze will be casualties. gm is not a dow component but a look at how the markets are reacting this hour, gm stock is higher, not unusual when a company cuts costs. the united auto worker

scott mcgrew, it's all about some e-mails. >> her e-mails. while the president takes him off the hook for murder, ivanka trump has been accused of using a personal e-mail account to conduct government business. the watchdog group tipped off the "washington post," which says ivanka trump sent hundreds of e-mails to cabinet secretaries and other staffers both before and after taking an official position at the white house. this would be against policy at best and against the law at worst. here's how president trump felt about personal e-mail when hillary clinton used personal e-mail. >> i think she's pathetic. i think she should be in jail for what she did with her e-mails. okay? she should be in jail. >> now, while we acknowledge the irony here, there are differences between ivanka trump and hillary clinton's e-mails. clinton sent and received tens of thousands of e-mails, not just to a personal account, but to a personal e-mail server. she wasn't a white house functionary, she was secretary of state. and then clinton deleted tens of thousands
