significance the back story to this collection i'm joined here in the studio by dean culture is scott roxburgh good to see you scott now this collection it's cool quite a history to say the least tell us more about it yeah i know this is an incredible of predilections here in the piece it was started in the early 18th century by august the 2nd called august the strong and he was sort of in a julie jewelry competition with the 14th the sun king of france and i came to find out like to be as well you know it was essential a big competition trying to get as much jewelry the most ostentatious collection to show their power and wealth this collection was built up over the tree and then during after the 2nd world war when germany was defeated the red army took the collection as spoils of war took it back to the soviet union where it stayed for many years was finally returned to germany in the late fifty's but the building itself the palace was basically destroyed during the war and was only rebuilt in 2006 so sort of the collection as we've seen it in dresden has only been on display since then the
