you got to listen to what san francisco supervisor scott weiner had to say about it. he says that he doesn't think so. he got the city economist and the san francisco municipal transportation agency to take a look at muni, a good hard look and a very unique reported. they wanted to look at muni's on time rating and look at what the lack of that on time service is cost the city. here's what they found. check out these numbers. only 58.7% of the buses and light rail vehicles actually arrive on time in the city of san francisco. and here's another one. the breakdowns are costing commuters $50 million a year in lost productivity. you have to figure some of that is staying in the local economy in lost dollars. well, muni says the buses are old, there's not enough light rail vehicles out there to service the amount of people who want to ride them, the tracks and computer system are old, and weiner says he is not satisfied. he wants muni to step up and start making things right. and he says it will not be cheap. he is looking at $2.2 million to get the system back up to snuff
