scott peterson will return to the san mateo county courtroom today. it is the second day of a hearing that could result in a new trial. kris sanchez joins us from redwood city. where does this case stand? >> reporter: well, scott peterson is sitting in a courtroom where the testimony is centered on an attorney who represented a juror who is accused of misconduct, who lied to get on the jury. and the juror was contacted by the stanislaus district attorney's office in 2020. peterson's attorneys contend that she was herself a victim of domestic violence while she was pregnant. something that she failed to disclose before the trial and she wanted to be seated on that jury to convict scott peterson. yesterday the court heard from a police clerk who testified about it and the court tried to decide whether a witness could be compelled to fwef interviewing that same juror about a documentary about the murder of laci peterson. if it is found that she did act inappropriately, that guilty verdict would be tossed out and there would be a new trial in the, for scott peterson in the murder of his wife and unborn child. in redwood city. nbc bay
