scott taylor, appreciate it. pamela brown, mark savage, appreciate all of your hard work today. a judge today ordered that castro be held on $8 million bond, $2 million for each of the three women and the other child that was born in captivity. sunny, i mean, $8 million bail, he would have to raise 10% of that, $800,000. clearly, if his house is in foreclosure, he would have a hard time doing that. but it's possible he couldn't have gotten any bail, right? >> you know, this is -- he's being held on bondable offenses. kidnapping and rape. so while it's possible that he couldn't have gotten any bond, he did get bond. but it's $8 million, anderson. he's got to put up 18% of that. so $8 million in total, it's very unlikely that he would be able to post bond. and i think we do need to remember that these are holding counts. that's what we call them in the law. many, many more charges will be coming up when there's an indictment in this case. we're talking about three women. ten years of crimes. $8 million, i know a lot of people are concerned about this. how could he possibly get bon

joining me now is scott taylor. he's an investigative reporter with woio-tv in cleveland. , scott. what's the latest? >> well, right now the fbi is taking ariel castro, the prime suspect, his dna, and really searching their database with open cases to see if that dna matches any of those. yesterday we saw the ohio attorney general in the crime lab do that. it cleared ohio, and now it's with the fbi. >> scott, you have been leading the reporting, and really an extraordinary letter that you discovered that castro apparently wrote in 2004. what do you know about this letter? what can you tell us about this letter? >> well, the letter really details how mr. castro, if he is the one who wrote this letter, actually picked up the girls. first michelle in 2002. at a family drugstore. then amanda berry, only 17 years old, and then gina dejesus. he captured both of them by just asking them if they would like a ride home. in that letter he talks about killing himself. he talks about eventually taking all of his money and giving that money to his victims. he says that basically he's a

more on all of that in just a second, but first i want to get straight to investigative reporter scott taylor with our cleveland affiliate woio. he is joining us with the latest. scott, you've been doing some great reporting on this truly amazing and horrible story. you have details tonight, new details about ariel castro. what is the latest? we know he is inpron. what are you hearing about the conditions, what he is facing in prison, and any idea of what he is like there? what are you hearing? >> reporter: right now he is in the cuyohoga county jail in downtown cleveland. really can walk from where the house is being boarded up right now, the house where the three girls were rescued on monday, all the way to downtown. easy walk. he is in what is called suicide prevention. he's not threatening to kill himself or hurt himself but he is a high profile inmate, and prosecutors, the sheriff's department, and really all of cleveland want to make sure this guy goes to trial, gets in front of a jury. there is no tv in his cell. he doesn't have access to a radio. he is not allowed any visitors or even

scott taylor is a reporter with woio tv here in cleveland.en following this story very closely. you are i would say kind of the lead reporter who has been following this story. what is the latest that you can tell us about the investigation? >> well there's a lot of reporters who have really broke stories here. the latest, though, to be honest with you, is the dna, we were talking about it in the break, the dna as you mentioned a few minutes ago that matched with amanda's daughter, it went through the ohio crime bureau, through the attorney general's office, called a bci. it cleared all the open cases with murders, rapes, kidnappings. now that dna has been moved over to the fbi and the fbi is taking a closer look at this to see if it matches anything across the nation. i can also tell you about what's going on right now ariel castro. he's in jail. he's in a single cell all by himself. he doesn't have a tv, radio, had no contact with anybody since monday and he's under what's called suicide precaution. doesn't mean that he has actually told pe

joining us now, the investigative reporter scott taylor from our cleveland affiliate woio. very much for coming in. i know you're getting a lot of information, you've been breaking news on this all of this week. what's the latest nugget you're learning? >> well, last night, wolf, right around 9:00, we got details of what our sources are claiming is a letter, a letter written by the prime suspect in all of this, ariel castro, that police found this letter sometime earlier this week inside his home. it's a letter that investigators believe was actually written by him back nine years ago, and that's after -- shortly after he had all the three women tied up, chained, gagged in his basement. we're talking about michelle knight, amanda berry and gina dejesus. in this letter, he allegedly writes that he's a sexual predator. he admits it. he talks about being sick. he talks about having a problem in his head. and he also goes on and says that he has only hurt three, just three women, did bad things to them, and nobody else. >> does he also say in that letter, and i've heard it said
