scott. can he really be the establishment candidate? the cruz campaign says no. the rubio campaign says they have the wind at their backs now, thomas. >> gabe gutierrez, thanks so much. joining me on the set is ed mcmullen. ed is donald trump's south carolina chairman and adviser to the campaign. good to have you with me. you were up late last night? a political hangover. >> no. >> good to go? so what do you make of the re-sounding support donald trump got in south carolina? what is it that he speaks to in the voter here? >> look, every single category of voter in south carolina came out and supported mr. trump, whether it was wealthy, middle class, low income, across the board. all across black, white, all across religions. this is a man who has tapped into, mr. trump has truly tapped into in south carolina and around this country, a message of opportunity and truly needing to reform and change the way this country works. that's the message. >> this is the same guy who has gotten into a spat with the pope, most recently. then insulting women in a way, misogynisting issues being brought up, muslims, mexicans, john mccain. i think i

thomas. >> craig, we know that haley endorsed mitt romney in 2012. newt gingrich carried the state of south carolina back in 2012. really interesting as we look at tim scottg up here in south carolina. it will also be interesting to see, thomas, whether this is something that moves the needle. it did not move the needle four years ago. as you know, mitt romney -- newt gingrich won the primary here four years ago. we'll see if this has any sort of measurable effect just three days out. >> certainly your profile has risen since 2012 to 2016, the challenges she has faced as governor. we're going to check with your colleague gabe gutierrez who has been following the rubio campaign. gabe, you're a few hours away frin aiken from where this town hall will take place tonight. has word started to spread about the governor? >> thomas, good afternoon. nobody here in the audience seems to know about it. it has broken in the last few minutes. his campaign is not speaking about it. this is his second of three town halls today, and he's really going around the state trying to build this momentum, and the endorsement of nikki haley would be a significant development in t
