let's go to scott thuman. you have reported a number of times from paris. the attack at the concert hall in 2015. any word this is likely a terror attack? scott: no one going that far just yet. i was there a few weeks ago and in the champs Élysees. this is a block from the arc de triomphe and the marks and spencers store is there. they are saying you have a police officer shot and killed and another officer who is seriously wound and supposedly the assailant. only one. but the person involved in that some of this has been shot and killed in the exchange of gunfire with police. the champs Élysees is completely shut down. they are not immune from the attack. in the past year and a half to two years you have the attack on the "charlie hebdo," the publication there. then the one you mentioned at the theater, cafe nearby and restaurant as well where you had more than a hundred people killed. last summer in nice, france, where someone drove a truck through a crowd of people. this is happening at a critical time politically. the elections are getting underway. now
