when it comes to fighting property crime, state senator scott wiener's legislation regarding car break-ins now law as well. and it closes that so-called locked door loophole. before today, even if you proved that the person bashed their way into the car. that's not good enough to prove auto break-in. you have to show that the doors were locked. it was ridiculous. car owners will no longer have to prove that every door was locked when their car was broken into. now, before today, you'd still have to testify and say, yeah, i locked all the doors. even if someone else bashed in your window, which really didn't make much sense. okay, next time you cross a bridge, or you take bart or muni, you're going to have to pay more cost for cars to cross. any of the seven state owned bridges in the bay area went up by a dollar today. so tolls for regular cars are now eight bucks increase, part of a measure approved by voters that will include support for transit and highway improvements. the toll change, by the way, does not include the golden gate bridge. bart and muni fares are also going up about $0.
