chief meteorologist scott williams is live in old city tonight with what's ahead. scott? >> hi there, lucy. certainly many up proved from this area live here in old city, of course, that wind has been mixing the atmosphere up a bit. so the sidewalks are looking pretty good across the area and those temperatures are actually above freezing. in fact let's look at the numbers right now. in center city 40 degrees. winds right now to the north at 17 miles per hour. so it is a little cold when you factor in that wind it feels like 31 degrees. we have 38 in millville as well as atlantic city. 34 right now in pottstown as well as allentown. the winds right now sustained out of the north in philadelphia at 17 miles per hour. we have 20 miles per hour sustain winds in millville so once again it feels colder wind chills right now in the 20s and low 30s across the area. we're dry and quiet but take a look. off to the west, yes, that is our next system that is set to bring some snow as well as more bitterly cold air our way. i'll have the timing expected amounts with that seven day fo

chief meteorologist scott williams is bundle up in old city tonight to help you get ready for all of this. scott. >> that's certainly right, iain and lucy. we're talking about temperatures that we haven't seen in decades across our area. but you combine the wind and what it actually feels like is going to be bone-chilling across our area. let's talk about the temperatures right now that we're looking at. it's 17 degrees in philadelphia. but take a look at that wind out of the west. 20 miles an hour making it feel like one lonely degree but it's a dangerous degree. take a look at the pocono mountains it feels like 14 below right now there. it feels like one below in atlantic city. so that is the deal we're looking at a feels like temperature in wilmington of three below right now. and it feels like three below in dover. it will get worse as we move toward the overnight and early during the day on friday. the entire area under a wind chill advisory that means feels like temperatures could range anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees below zero. for the pocono mountains it is a wind chill warnin

chief meteorologist scott williams life in old city tonight with what we can expect and it's going toe cold, right, scott. >> that's certainly right, iain. we are looking at some of the coldest air of the season that will be moving in over the next several days. we'll get our first shot of arctic air by tomorrow morning. then the second shot during saturday night into sunday. but let's talk about ultimate doppler right now. that clipper system has been moving through most of the moisture offshore. we saw a few showers and some snow showers across the area but the bigger story the tumbling temperatures. thirty seven right now in philadelphia. feels like 27 degrees and look at those winds of change right now gusts in philadelphia 26 miles per hour. higher gusts north and west. so 36 degrees right now. the temperature dropping in philadelphia. and take a look at those numbers off to the north and west. single digits even temperatures below zero in canada. so by the overnight, when you wake up tomorrow morning temperatures in the single digits and teens but once again it's the feels like

chief meteorologist scott williams is live in old city tonight with details. scott, we're ready for one. >>> yeah, everyone is, dawn and iain. i mean we're sick of this being one of the top five coldest februaries on record. we're about to turn the corner and move into the month of march. there is a little bit of a warmup but we also have more snowfall chances in that seven day forecast. let's talk about this morning's system. it hit as predicted. the heaviest snow south and east of philadelphia in particular sussex county in delaware and also cape may county. so how much snow did new jersey get? cape may 5.4-inches. toward the atlantic city international airport 2.6-inches. hammonton saw about an inch and we'll move into the state of delaware frankford saw over 6.5-inches of snow. lewes, delaware, 3-inches and as we look at the temperatures right now it's 30 degrees making it feel like low 20s when you factor in that win it is cold but not quite as brutal if you're stepping outdoors this evening that wind not really a big factor. but we'll call it partly cloud
