sea world has already rescued more than 400 sea lion pups since january. more than twice the number in a typical year. extremely malnourished and emaciated, these sea lions arrive in desperate need. sea world's rescue team provides feedings around the clock, most of them by tubes. >> it is very emotional. >> reporter: in the 50-some years that sea world has been around, park officials tell us they haven't had to suspend a show. well, with these sea lions coming ashore they tell us sea lions live has been suspended for approximately two weeks. >> so the sea lion and otter stadium team is sending their members to work alongside sea world's rescue team members to get these animals the help they need. >> reporter: sea world has had to take some of the animals in the park and move them to other areas to make room for the sea lions. right now they're also building two temporary pools to house more pups. with all hands on deck, it's taking a toll. >> i've been here in the park for 20 years. it gets me because i see the commitment every day that i'm work alongside
