seat seatac. it was bright out. so he pulls this off, broad daylight. i would have to guess, he was ignoring instructions from the ground crew and air traffic control. because any aircraft that makes it on to any active runway has to first get clearance from air traffic control. with flight lessons and that flight, the first thing you do before you go open to a specific runway, you call air traffic control, is it clear for you to do this, and they give you the go ahead. i would have to guess they knew relatively quickly that something wasn't quite right with this aircraft. yes, that is the outstanding questioning. how did he make it on to the active runway and take off and he wasn't authorized to do so? that will be something that the airline and the airports are really going to want to put their heads together to figure out how can we prevent this from happening again. but i will say, this is a tough one. this is someone who had the access. he is what you considered a trusted individual. a trusted airport worker. >> he must have known something about h
