i represent seattle, washington, area and so a couple of weeks ago, when the muslim ban executive order was instituted, i was called to the airport around noon. i spent almost nine hours at the airport. we literally had to hold a plane from being -- from taking off at the gate by re-attaching the bridgeway. we had to pound on the doors to have customs and border protection to try to get some answers for how many people were being held. we missed one gentleman who was already deported to somalia. and we were able to finally get two people off of the plane, one from sudan, one from yemen, and finally after many, many hours, get him access to legal counsel. those two were finally table enter and i'm pleased to say we were able to get the somaly gentleman who was taken all the way to heathrow back into the united states. but the chaos that my colleagues have described at airports across the country are not only disturbing because of the inhumanity of the executive orders, but i have to tell you that the muslim ban also threatens our national security. and many experts have said this. why? l
