it's called "operation secret santa". t-p-d says the operation ?is effective. when it started in 2004...67 people had items stolen out of their cars at westshore or international malls. last year -- there were only eight. deputies in hillsborough county have busted a ?massive stolen car ring. almost ?fifty cars have beebr them were unlocked... and many even had the ?keys inside. deputies say they have arrested five adults and nine juveniles for stealing 46 cars over the last two months. deputies say the group would just pull on door handles of different cars... until they opened. nearly all of the cars were recovered near where they were stolen, but at least two were found in clearwater. the group has been charged with a total of fifty felonies. four guns were also stolen from the cars, but a scary sight for a family in pasco county. someone tried to break into their home... using a very ?professional tool: a glass cutter! the family spotted a nearly ?perfect circle cut into one of their windows. it happened earlier this week in the magnolia valley neighborhood
