and the secret service as far as we know.heir handling of the situation so far. >> well, i think there's still a lot that we don't know about this instant. but it sounds like the secret service did a very good job in terms of preventing this individual from actually getting a shot off against donald trump. there were a couple of holes ahead of the way donald trump was playing. and the secret service was able to identify this gun that was sticking out of the fence. engaged the individual. so bravo to the secret service for taking those actions. secondly it once again shows how difficult it is to protect individuals in these open venues. especially in a golf course that we have all these open spaces. hundreds of yards without inhibited field of vision. that allows individual to have quite an opportunity to take a shot against somebody. so i know the secret service working with the local authorities is trying to do everything possible to try to ensure that the perimeter of these events are going to be secure. but again, it just

secret service. whether that be under director cheadle or whether that be under rowe. to quote a former secret service agent, he said that he does not feel any safer or better now than he did under cheadle, having rowe at the helm. i think leadership as we can all admit to, whether it be in the military, the police force or whether it be here in the house, leadership is one of the things that we must rely upon heavily and there's a crisis in leadership. i also want to look at the fact that there is a prioritization across not just our military but other departments and agencies to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion under d.e.i., the meritocracy and readiness of our actual capabilities on the ground. the further thing needing to be explored is the doctrine itself that is being utilized by the u.s. secret service. for too long they've continued to go under a very specific and very understandable thing where whatever your title is that you hold, results in the amount of resources and assets bein
