so that is actually an excellent segway. we have approximately 7 minutes. so i am going to try to squeeze in 2 questions. i want to discuss what we're working with right now. we are working with and schools incorporating school based programs. they don't have the funding or resources. with that being said, what are some of the barriers of working with the community based organizations to be able to work in an effective manner with the schools. i would like to refer to bianca. i know she worked with united players. to talk about a successful working with the program at a community based organization and other folks on speak to the barriers and strengths. >> i have been with up for a year and they provide amount. it's a violence prevention organization. they take you on field trips to fight for the power. the stop the violence. what i really liked about it. not only did it help you to fight for power. but provided you with jobs. i know it helped a lot of kids and they come in and a lot of schools. they come in and we have meetings. we talk about many stuff. b

so, very few people understand the new deal segways into war. they beefed up the military bases like fort mason. my 1943, they are all killed. the war did what the new deal couldn't do, full employment. there were reports, it's still with mind numbing statistic. we have to rely on other people to do it. the these projects enriched the lives of millions of people and does so today all the time. i have become aware of it, but very few people are. i have also become aware extraordinary people. here's a dedication of roosevelt. on the left, who painted the murals in the social security building with her husband and steph an kennedy. it's been a privilege to meet these people. just recently, i found this statue of roosevelt. is over looks oslow harbor. they revere roosevelt, because of what they learned from the new deal about how to build a civil society. they didn't get rid of it, they expanded it. just like other scandinavian countries are consistently rated as the happiest in the world. the new deal continues to live on there. thank you. you know, and part of what was to kind of segway into the second part of your question, part of what was really fun about doing this research was how many interesting stories there were to uncover that didn't seem to have been told before because there just hasn't been very much research on this. you know, one that comes to mind from the civil war years was a very big debate over the enforcement of the fugitive slave laws in washington. during 1862 including after e emancipation in washington which was in april of 1862, local officials continued to enforce the fugitive slave law. and that meant that, particularly, slaves fleeing from maryland could be caught up, and their owners come in to washington and go before a fugitive slave commissioner and insist on them being brought back into slavery. which is kind of amazing because washington was under union control and was also free, ostensibly free. and yet people there could be reenslaved and sent back. and one of the things that i thought was really interesting to discover was real evidence that even though local officials wanted to c
