the first seminole war wasn't called the first seminole war. it wasn't called the seminole war. it was called the florida war. right at the end of the florida war for lack of a better word, the territorial florida or the spanish colony of florida, largely becomes a territory of the united states. it gets the treaty and goes through in 1821. that process takes place and florida becomes part of the united states. so as it's taking place, everyone knows indians are involved but no one is thinking of this as the first of a series of three seminole wars. just a war that happens to take place in this territory called florida. it is the florida war and dealt with lots of things. it is an undeclared war. so congress never officially declares war although they send militia and soldiers and troops, the army and navy into florida. they authorize the behavior but it is an undeclared war. because it is undeclared we don't know when it really starts and it's really hard to figure out when it ends. it depends how you measure. this is kind of the same ideas as before hand. when do the seminoles

current temperature 90. 85 clearwater beach. 92 seminole. lutz, 90. 93 lakeland, frost proof. these temperatures have not been cooled off by showers. you can see it here, right there, and right there. we may see a few showers in that interior spot. pretty quiet in that same area. most of the activity near where the thunderstorms have developed already. south florida, hot across the central part of the state. there is fiona moving to the west, northwest. not really a factor. re focus on what is south of the area. that's a look at the satellite imagery. this area has about a 30% chance of developing. the area west of th dominate across the region. rain chances, 20%. we are actually transitioning back into a northwesterly flow as the big high you just saw will build in to the south and west. and give us more of a northwesterly flow. rain chances 30% and 40%. so everything will kind of start to march eastward now as opposed to westward which is what we have seen all week. on the wrap model, you can see the storms do develop here for the evening hours and some of these inland spots

as you can see, a handful of and seminole and pinellas park. they're moving off to the west. if you're heading over to the rays gape this evening -- game this evening, there is nothing to worry about. there is more storms developing in highlands and avon park. this will have a hard time getting going. there will be more storms in polk but nothing as widespread as the last couple of hours. the energy for the day across temperatures have cooled into the 70s. your heat is a lot of that energy. if you see temperatures in the low 90s, you have plenty of energy for the storms. once the atmosphere has been worked over, most of the energy for the kay has gone. things will reload by tomorrow afternoon. count on that. all of the reports stations from tampa to clearwater and st. pete reporting rain or thunderstorms with temperatures in the upper 70s. lunchtime. up to 90 degrees. then all of a sudden the moisture and the sea breeze gets going and the storms really get cranking as they move off shore. what is nice about this pattern is usually by 6:30, 7:00, most of the rain is gone. ther

at 4:00 p.m., near 90 degrees. 81, seminole. the areas that did get showers helped to drop the temperature considerably. 77 degrees wesley chapel. we tend to hold on to these temperatures close to the afternoon temperatures after showers occur. lots of moisture in the atmosphere. it doesn't allow the air to nosily at the surface and it continues to move showers in that direction, but with the heating of the day it helps to enhance our activity. i didn't show you the gaston path at the top of the news path, but you can see that is going to be a category one hurricane potentially sometime tomorrow and also potentially long term, could become, could become auto category two storm. it is well east of us, not really a concern for us. obviously it helps us to watch the tropics and remind us we're heading towards the peak many, many hurricanes through the years. a 76% chance of development for 99 l. and that's what we will be watching very closely for potential development into a tropical depression. really it will probably be more lik
