if they vote to pass the budget it means three fire companies and several rec senters will close as part of the mayor's plan to save money. at issue is how to spend $2.3 billion in the next fiscal year. some council members are hoping to make last-minute changes to the budget at today's final vote. last week, the city council voted in favor of the mayor's budget. council president jack young tried to get other council members to vote against the cuts but was not successful. several council members who supported young's plan to save the fire companies changed their vote after the mayor said even if other cuts were made, that money could not be used to save the fire company. if the council gives final approval today as of july 1st truck 10 in west west baltimore truck 15 in east baltimore will be closed. so again, the city council final vote on the budget is scheduled for later today. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> this thursday aaa releases the numbers on how many people are expected to head out for the 4th of july and good news for those driving. gas prices have dropped in the past two
