now you can switch over to sentinel radar. we'll take you back in time to six hours ago. this storm complex was building in ohio and as that complex moved through ohio, i was reading reports of what was happening behind this line and there are numerous reports, 60, 70, 80 mile-per-hour wind. some of these 80 mile-per-hour winds were actually measured, not estimated and again this is a classic complex. we've talked about this. it puts down a lot of very high wind and it typically moves from the northwest to the southeast. it basically follows along temperature contours in the upper levels of the atmosphere. to be perfectly honest, it looked like at 6:00, 6:30 that the brunt was going to be heading more towards charlottesville, more towards interstate 64 and stay mostly south of 66, but that, of course, not the case as we know now. it kind of got over into west virginia and then it just made more of pan east to northeast movement. so the package of the very heavy winds and rain had moved through. there is a flash flood warning back out to the west. i want to get to that rea

i want to show you sentinel hour. this is only the last hour. look at how much real estate this has covered. right now all that yellow are active thunderstorm warnings and most of them including frederick county, loudoun county, quo year county, prince william county and back -- fauquier county, prince william county and back out to the west along 81. front royal is in the warning as well. just about all of this goes until 10:30. a couple warnings will be in effect until 10 if i evening, but it's such a large line of -- 10:15, but it's such a large line of these showers moving through, they're issuing these warnings ahead of the line. very heavy rain, possibility of up to nickel size hail, but the wind is the story. if we get some wind reports, we'll pass them along. we could have the wind gusting 60, 70, miles per hour it. does appear in the last hour or so some of that real high wind has called down a bit, but could reenergize. we'll continue to watch this very closely. i should mention this, too. we had a tornado warning well to the northwest
