beijing 16, 11 in seoul. tokyo, 27 degrees. it does warm up during the daytime, as you head into the evening hours, the companies are going to be dropping dramatically. getting a look at the u.s. or rather the caribbean where we're seeing the most activity now. we have a hurricane here, rina, that formed. currently category one hurricane, and it is a fairly compact system, not really impacting a wide area. it is packing pretty strong winds and looking to become a major hurricane in the next couple days. still on a strengthening track. it may approach yucatan peninsula later this week. by then it weakens to category one or two hurricane. right now rainfall in slight amounts, honduras and belize and southern mexico. and we may see stronger waves on the coastline as well. over towards europe today, looking at quite a bit of activity towards the west. we have multiple systems here that are starting to pack in strong winds as well as cold conditions. then that rainfall, too, ample amounts of rain vk reported across areas of the iber

seoul, august 4 of 2011, we issued a call for projects and continued funds. on the seventh we had three applications to receive the applications outlined on page 24 of your packet. i have a very brief overview of the applications. the first one is from s.f. mta, a proposal for an 18 month campaign, $50,000, to target and encouraged outreach efforts on education throughout the city that were identified in the safety task force. the second program is the conversion project, focusing on high conversion areas, proceeding to convert 12 crosswalks at 12 on controlled intersections. we call them piano keys or continental crosswalks. then there are 21 intersections that will be receiving similar conversions. the final project that we received this from the enhancement of the green light of day trail, to put out section tracks with parallel parking lots on both parts of third street down to mariposa street and enhancing the bike lane from mariposa on conflict areas. so, we reviewed the project using the screening criteria on page 25 of for a packet. this included elig

as for temperatures, we expect 23 degrees in tokyo and 21 in seoul. it will be cool at only 11 degrees and you may see snow. we are monitoring the hurricane jo va set to make landfall in the next several hours. they are impacting much of the west coast. we also have another system that is trailing jo va. this is irving that is going to approach the same area. this area will be contending with a very wet condition through the next several days. as for the rest of north america, a very bigelow pressure system continues to dump heavy rain across the southeastern part of the u.s. the rain will spread into the north eastern state in the next 24 hours. while rain is developing across the mississippi valley on wednesday and to the west, whether it's british columbia and parts of washington are staying wet and you may see heavy snow in the upper mountains. as for temperatures, we expect 32 in houston and heating up to 36 in los angeles. it's going to be cool in vancouver with 15 degrees and 14 in seattle. finally we will go over to europe. we can see a long r

we go live to seoul. they are embarking on a road trip. this is fairly unprecedented. >> this has really been a big public honor for the president of south korea. he has been asked to address congress. now, they are going on a road trip together to detroit. this is apt or ironic. this was a major sticking point. american carmakers and korean car makers really want very different things from that deal. the compromises reached back in december which really moved the whole process forward. now that this has been passed by congress, they are hammering home the message about the kind of things that both presidents hope next they would do for their country. >> the trade deal was very controversial. many said it would not create any jobs. how was this impact in south korea? >> well, it has been passed by congress. the lawmakers say they will fight against this in the korean parliament. they are worried about guarantees for farmers, the banking sector. the ruling party is much more keen to get it passed quickly, especially now that the u.s. congre
