long, this wasn't a small group here. 120 guests and staff stuck for a week at a lake resort in sequoia national park. about seven days. cruise how to plow 8 miles of deep snow and clear way 20 trees that had fallen across the road. they were able to get to them last night. the area will likely get several more feet of snow. 120 people stuck for a week. at least they had a big gathering. i'm sure after day three or four they wanted out. there are hotspots of rain over the santa cruz mountains spilling into the highway 101 corridor between morgan hill and san jose where the rain is and where the rain is not anywhere close to san francisco some light showers, san mateo county, alameda county, there will be some showers outside tonight but the heaviest rain happens to move through and we see scattered showers on saturday and sunday. speaking of big-time sierra snow, stephen allen sent me one of my favorite pictures of the year. right when carson pass opened last night early into this morning. he lives in saratoga and took this picture of himself next to the snow bank. 20-22 feet high. that is a lot

this happened at the lodge in the sequoia national forest.e snow is expected to come to the mountains. >> snow in the mountains and rain here in the bay area. >> we have both. we'll check the radar to show you both. wait until you see the picture of a man who lives in saratoga sent me early this morning. first off, heaviest rain has moved through. that was the front. we will be left with scattered showers throughout the evening. there are lots of showers from concorde south on 680. san ramone and dublin. it's dry for most of samona county. dry in francisco. those scattered showers will uemove through. the boundary hanging out around we see steady rain fall and steady rain in and around san jose and the santa cruz mountains. look at this. steven allen right when the road opened. they just plowed this. that must be one heck of a plow. elevation 8600 feet. highway 88. that is steven in the picture. and 20, 15, 18 feet of snow above him. that was this morning in the sierra. they will get a couple more feet over the weekend. here's a look at snow
