serbia, croatia, bosnia, all of those places had been split up and there was a lot of crisis and conflict that is why my parents were extremely fortunate to have gotten me during a time like that. have been there a handful of times but i do not speak the language. it is confusing, but i know it is home. i started judo because my dad had done karate 410-12 years -- for 10-12 years. he wanted me to try karate, but he put me in judo first and i fell in love with that. the olympics to me means a chance for every country to be involved in sport. it is a chance to be on the big stage. to me, it is the coolest sporting event in the world. i can make a name for myself, i get an olympic medal or show myself what i can do. i can just tell myself that i can do it. i am not really nervous. even though it does not say montenegro on my backpack, i feel like i am also representing them. i'm really thankful that i have been given everything. i am a kid from a different country. my u.s. citizenship has given me every opportunity i have wanted needed. now i am in this position and is great that i am able t
