sergio quintana is live with the latest.eporter: almost immediately after this crash, there were pictures posted on social media from some spectators. let's look at a few of those we did see. you can see some pretty dark plume of smoke on the runway. we talked to few spectators who say the plane was doing what was called a ribbon-cutting maneuver and was upside down, flying just feet above the runaway, when it seemed to get closer and closer to the concrete and then skidded for several feet. white smoke, following that skid, and then it turned to black smoke, and then fire. a lot of witnesses we talked to say it seemed like the fire crews took awhile to get out to that fire. they say that the fire department was stationed behind the audience so they had to drive around them quite some bit before they could get to the scene of the fire. i did ask that of the colonel who just gave a news briefing here just a few minutes ago. he said that it was travis air force base fire crews who were stationed there, who were overseeing this

sergio quintana talk to people who knew the victims and the killer today. he is live now from isla vista. reporter: friday night's rampage started here at the capri apartments and was here where three of the victims were. today we talked with one of the neighbors of those victims and their accused killer. >> at the capri apartments a door is boarded up. this where is authorities combed through a gruesome crime scene. >> booties and masks and why the face mask? >> he talk at length about this neighbors but did not want us to reveal hissite. he says two of the victims were eliot roommates, another a friend. >> they were really good kids, into quiet. extremely smart. >> investigator says rodger stabbed the three young men to death. they're identified as 20-year-old cheng hong from san jose, george chen, and 20-year-old weihan wang of fremont. in youtube posts, eliot rodger said this violent rampage was retribution for being treated badly by women and getting pick on by the larger community. but his anybody tells us it was difficult to enter act with him. >> he

sergio quintana is live at children's hospital where the young girl was taken. reporter: i talked with the mayor and she says anytime a child is a victim of street violence it becomes a high priority for her administration, and for the police department. it has now been about 24 hours since that eight-year-old girl was shot in the neck. she remains here in critical condition at oakland children's hospital. as police him to the crime scene for evidence in the shooting, the neighborhood quickly learned a child was a victim of the drive-by. >> not sure which kid it is yet. but i know there's a couple kids outside that is usually here. if it was a kid, that mean they was walking with m. else. >> in fact the eight-year-old victim was playing on her front porch when she was hit by stray gunfire. he eight-year-old brother was just feet away but was not hit. according to our media partner, the oakland tribune, the intended victim of the shooting it a 47-year-old man who was hit in at the groin and leg and is expected to survive. neighbors say he was standing in the fron

sergio quintana is live with the details. reporter: the police say that 26-year-old stephen guillermo wrapped up an evening with friends and arrived to his apartment building just before 1:40 this morning, but he went to the wrong apartment, and was shot to death. friends of the victim's family tell me he walked out of the elevator and over to what he thought was his apartment but he was on the wrong floor. police say he was shot inside the apartment of 68-year-old amisi kachepa. physical residents say kachepa blamed guillermo for breaking his doorknob. friends of the victim did not want to talk another camera but described him as quiet and nonconfrontational and they're in disbelief. i'm told that guillermo shared an apartment on the fifth floor with his younger brother and sister. there will several of his friends here paying respects. he was most recently a student at san francisco state university. reporting live in san francisco. abc7 news. >>> developing news in the east bay after a deadly shooting led to a crash on 580
