one of them is cbs news foreign correspondent seth doane. is home in rome. >> reporter: here we are covering this. we know it's a deadly virus. it can be incredibly serious, major respiratory illness. so far i've been lucky. i had chest pressure like a big chest workout. i had a little bit of a cough, mild fever, weird aches and pains in places i'm not used to. but honestly i feel like i've had colds and flus for this. i've never been totally out for the whole day in bed. i've been up able to talk with people. for me, fortunately for me, it's been quite mild. but as soon as i learned i had been exposed to people who had tested positive, we have been locked down here inside the house. as you know, italy has been locked down. people have been asked/told they had to remain at home. since i had had exposure to positive cases, i was not allowed to leave the house. i was not allowed to leave the house to take out the trash. some neighbors just brought groceries to us and dropped them on the doorstep. we've taken this quarantine seriously because yo

home to sunday morning's seth doane. he's prepared what may be our most unusual sunday morning postcard ever! >> first, we watched wuhan empty its streets and it felt so far away, then it was the canals of venice, and the piazzas of rome, empty too. now across the world the odd concept of "quarantine" has become surprisingly familiar my husband, andrea, and i have been locked-in for nearly two-weeks in rome. the health authorities have called. they say they're about fifteen minutes away. they're on their way to give me a test. i've been keeping a journal on my phone after being exposed and then testing positive for the coronavirus. well, i got the news tonight that i was hoping not to get . for me, the symptoms have been a wospierwhmed, is fortunate doctors have been forced to prioritize patients in the icu, filled newspapers. i'm not worried about my health i'm feeling okay, i'm relatively young i'll be fine, but this idea of possibly passing it along is the worst. so, like so many around the world now, we stay in, work
