joining me now is carrie severino director at judicial crisis network. us this morning. you clearly saw the display by democrats last week to make this all about trump. it wasn't necessarily about policy disagreements or concerns. >> no. that's because if they made it about kavanaugh it would be so clear he is one of the most qualified people ever to be nominated for the office. you had people like the a.d.a. seeing is an a +. so if we were really talking about judge kavanaugh this guy will have broad bipartisan support but what we saw instead were a lot of democrats running for 2020 campaigns embarrassing themselves everything from the complete fake fishing expedition by senator harris or editing tape to try to fundraise off of kavanaugh's own comments to cory booker playing spartacus. it was embarrassing and the protestors being egged on by democratic senators themselves. it doesn't affect kavanaugh as much as it will make uncomfortable democratic senators like joe manchin and others who like what president trump is doing and the independents won't be

we were talking with carrie severino with the crisis network.ts. in terms of the mid terms, how do you see this impacting red state democrats? >> well, a couple of things, first of all, i believe that the numbers would increase for sure for those red state democrats. let's remember, joe manchin if you look at west virginia 58 to 28% folks there in west virginia want brett kavanaugh confirmed. that's a lot of pressure on joe manchin. we also know if he goes ahead and confirms brett kavanaugh he is pretty much close to being reelected at that point in the midterm elections up in the senate race, there is a lot of pressure on him to do so. i think with this fbi investigation it would make perfect sense. i think this is really important to point out. you have another week now not just of an fbi investigation that's going to go on but a chance for democrats to, in essence, bring up a few other things. i mean are they going to overplay their hand even more going back to, i don't know, brett kavanaugh's kindergarten preschool paint class where he was f
