we have a majority sf city member companies which represent 90% of the tech population in san francisco. there are posting all their new jobs on hire sf. we're using the existing infrastructure. we want to get more companies in san francisco to hire san franciscans. and so we're going to develop initiatives around that. there is a big mismatch in the qualifications of those who are not employed in san francisco versus the jobs the tech community wants to hire and we will job that -- bridge that with job training. we have a plan around that. we think employment will solve a lot of the social ills in san francisco. we're focused on jobs. later this year, sf city will dip its toe in policy initiatives. we're watching closely the proposals that will be coming out of the mayor's office around tax reform. twitter stays in san francisco. it was not a bluff. i am the one who ran to city hall and said, it are going to lose this company if you do not do something. that is how i started the friendship with adlai. i did not know this person at all. -- that is how i started the friendship with ed le

in fact, we created sf city, the citizens' initiative for innovation and technology -- technology and innovation. it is our partnership with technology companies to create job postings and training programs that offer our young and mid-career people an opportunity to get trained in this technology skills that our companies are looking forward to. within one month of announcing that, we have over 100 technology companies that have joined in sf citi. thank you very much for those of you that have done that. we have stronger policy analysis for looking at legislation between the mayor's office and the board of supervisors that will gauge the impact on jobs and for small businesses. we have signaled very strongly that we need to have businesses at our site to evaluate all of the legislation that we do so that we can understand its impact on business. that is the level of commitment that i have made in working with the board of supervisors. i think we have signaled a new way of looking at things. finally, we have invested in the foundations of our city that ensure all of us can live here.

when you learn about the statistics that sf city is sharing with us, if it is jobs for seven siskins, it is worth to get up early for, sacrificing late-night meetings, working on the weekend -- except my golf. greening and planning has been made possible by dpw and staff and sf clean city coalition. have accomplished and made possible seventh assata improvements along san bruno avenue. -- seven facade improvements along san bruno avenue. we have had a series of events to promote a neighborhood pride and involvement, such as an night on the portola, chinese leaders dinner, and a pop-up art gallery this past february right there in that space, which is available for lease. this is the site of our future pocket park and hopefully a coffee house right there in that space. [applause] and i wanted to thank others for their efforts and architects for humanity. tech sf is the money that was granted to us as a city, and aimed at those entities that helped train kids like you and others to the technology skills so that you can get a job at ibm or twitter or salesforce or wells fargo or bank of america. all of these technology jobs need the skill sets. it is a good opportunity. we are working with entities. that has been putting those skills together. you can get enrolled in these nonprofits and cable brokerage you. you can get job training. i saw some of the kids. they are smiling because they know they have a future with all the these companies. they can move around and choose what it is they want to do. whether it is in the music industry, financial industry, social services industry. all of that will be tech driven. i been spending time making sure the city is safe, making sure we do with our budget. it is an exciting for me because it is the first time i ever did this. i have not been a politician before this. some of this stuff is coming at me in a new way. i have been working for government for 23 years. i try to use that experience in
