and the department of public health, about security services, at sfgeneral, and this comports with the results of that audit. and of the last several months. and so, that investment, one way or the other is going to be made, and it has been made, i think, faster by the collaboration of or between our departments and frankly, it is years overdue. >> thank you. >> okay. >> colleagues, any further discussion or questions, or comments? >> one thing that i would like to stress. we are pleased to see that in the upcoming budget that there is an academy class, i just presided over the one and only academy class for the deputy sheriffs and this department had not seen in five years, and so i know that it is, well spot lighted both for the police and fire, for their need of classes. but for the department of our size, and our strength to have only one class in five years, was stared from another class and so i want to say thank you for the one upcoming class that is proposed for this budget and we appreciate that very much. we certainly had hoped that there might be more, but we look forward to

the budget analyst recommendations changed from last month to this week, regarding the nurses at sfgeneral. >> yes. absolutely, supervisor, avalos, and our primary concern which we worked through with the budget and legislative analyst was a proposed reduction to nursing, salaries at san francisco, general. and as part of the mou that we had entered into, there was a side letter, and with a commitment to add nursing staffing, and in specific areas, and it was part of that agreement, and so our concern was that we did not want to have an offseting reduction to salary, we had agreed with the budget and legislative analyst, to remove that recommendation, so that is not part of these reductions, and with the technical adjustment from the mayor's office, that mou side letters going forward fully anticipated. >> thank you. >> and in our haurg hearing it was discussed that the department is doing a lot of work to expedite the hiring process to the department dhr and how is that moving along and how are we seeing that stream lining going forward? >> we are very focused on it from top to bottom and

very negative thing for the agency's ability to actually deliver the power to hospitals, and to sfgeneral and fire stations and muni and so forth and even though i completely understand, the concern, that given the track record, you know the trust level and the commission's, willingness to follow through on directives from this board, i completely understand that sentiment but i think that this would have been the wong way to go and so i am appreciative that supervisor breed was able to get the assurance and to work that the agency is accountable for following through on the commitments. >> thank you, process wise, we are talking about items one and two, and i will lay it out on monday when we start the heart of the budget about our public comment process that will be the following friday. so we will make the motions now and continue these items to next week, madam clerk? >> would you like to have the public comment? >> no, we are going to with the training that we have worked out, we are going to have the public comment on the friday, the second friday of budget. for these items supervis
