[unintelligible] i am running for mayor because of san francisco is full of corrections. i have to clean all of this mess we have in san francisco because somebody has to take care of business. i am financing my own campaign. i am a capable and successful businessman. i was invited to the white house, president reagan, president bush, president clinton, and i asked the people why. you are taking everybody and i did that. the solution for san

and it would be useful and i am sure we could probably get some air space on sfgov tv about that. and last thing immaterialed to ask you about a couple of things like job shadowing with community youth and i was talking to the executive director of enterprise high school students who expressed interest in working with the planning department on that. and i don't know what you have thought about or how far you are on that process. >> one of the overarching strategies was developing informal and personal relationships and so we have -- we started with a small pilot this summer and in the chinese community and development center had a fellows program to hear it and it was very short. we found out about it at the last minute. we definitely want to increase it and formalize it and have volunteers that talk to students and muse about what we do and demonstrate. so we're starting to think about it and did a small test and are excited to ep large it. >> and to invite young people who are interested in planning stuff and doing the s.s. build program and the architectural foundation and ent

and the enforcement action recommendations as well as moving forward around broadcasting meetings on sfgov tv, although a hope we can figure out how to do that with regards to the budget unsettling. with regards to item four, i am not prepared to support specific recommendations that a laid out in the proposed recommendations. what i might suggest is that of language that states with regards to item number four, we did not take a position with regards to the specific legislation, but we would be open to considering other options to think about the ethics commission could continue to not involve any appearances of impropriety and leave it open for the future if there will be other discussions by the board. supervisor campos: we have a motion by president chiu. supervisor farrell: that is fine with me. vice thing was listing specific entities. and -- my specific thing was listing specific entities. i would prefer we do not specifically name any organizations here, so that satisfies that and is fine by me. supervisor campos: city attorney. >> the committee should also respond to the findings,

in your video on sfgov web sites, you encourage people to

recommendation 7, which the committee agreed to, to maximize transparency and broadcast meetings on sfgov television, i like the previous item, where there was a recommendation to hire a new employee. you put in language that suggested we agree with this legislation, subject to our typical budget process and insuring dollars are available. i would like to see that language year. i do not like to write a blank check. i would suggest we amend the resolution to include language similar to item 24, which says we agree with recommendation no. -- number seven, subject to the budget process. supervisor campos: something related to this -- i am introducing today an ordinance that would require the ethics commission meetings to be broadcast on -- be broadcast on sfgtv. obviously, whatever is done must be within the confines of the budget. it is my hope and believe this is such a priority that the ethics commission should move forward. my understanding is they are already committed to doing that. i do not know that i object to what supervisor elsbernd is saying, but i do know -- do not know whether

as we are taping this with sfgov tv i will ask you to ask your question into the microphone so they can pick it up. and you, too will be on tv. now nobody wants to. i will ask a requequestion, wha you working on now? >> does that sound planted? it wasn't. i just finished a monster of a book it's a huge book, set in japan and covers the earth from 1939 and 1966 about 2 brothers and the title is a street of a thousand blossoms. if you haven't noticed we are talking about themes that run through my book. one of the things i like a lot is exploring subcultures. the lepercy. the silk working women. i like to write about groups of people who persevere and make a life on their own aside from what the general culture is doing. i find that i don't consciously sit down and do that but it happens. in this particular book something that has fascinated me is sumo and sumo wrestlers and how they get so big and what it's like in their culture. one of the brothers becomes an sumo and that's why it's a big book!
