hester, i did share this with sfmta last week but it is something i hear over and over again from the residence particularly in the south of market and other parts the city is request framore traffic control officers in the rush hour. i think it is important to plan for the future for the incredible transit need we #5ur8d have today, we know underground tunnel will take decades and bill whereins of dollars and political will on top of that and have to address what is hap ong the ground. i'm excited sfmta is looking to work with wita and increasing water transportation around the city and also in and across north and east bay. i think it is important we look at the regional bus system and see how to make that more efficient and effective as we wait to build the second tube for the bart. i think thirdly our residence want to see more parking control officers so even if they move slowly there is movement and coordination and guidance. i know that we have been successfully launching the don't block the box and appreciate sfmta for all the resource squz work they put there. i still hear fr

i i'm the sfmta project manager for this project for the van ness brt project. the van ness brt project is building a bus rapid transit system which is secially a collection of transit lanes down van ness on either side of the median from south van ness and mission street to just shy of van ness and lombard and the buses transition into traffic. it's a complete streets project. it's comprehensive. we're repaving the road and building the transit bus ways but we're building nine transit stations next to the medians and in the center of the street and traffic lights and signals and lighting and rebuilding the sewer lines and water lines and rebuilding everything from sidewalk to sidewalk along van ness avenue. the critical portion for this commission is the historic district we have one station at mccallister and van ness and one of the reasons i wanted to mention that specifically is because you're responsible for reviewing and giving us feedback on the appropriateness of the design of that station. at the same time i would like you to consider that the sfmta is

it's been horrendous and i know the city has been meeting with the sfmta board and community to come up with strategies to calm that traffic around at&t park and mission bay. biotech companies talk about coming in and bringing 2,000 in there and they leave in the afternoon. and we're still -- they are still not addressing the issues of residents just wanting to get home after work. so this transportation improvement fund to me is very, very personal. i really appreciate the warrior's collaboration with all of the government entities, the bicycle coalition, but primarily, with the community. i mean, they stepped really up first-class and came out and have been talking with us over the last 18 months >> i mean they came out swinging, you know? i really, really appreciate for them. they couldn't have come with this plan at a better time, given that the central subway is in alignment with the rollout of the new events center. that will even further improve that little hub there, bringing in tracks where there is one platform, you see in that will accommodate more people. it's safer. you
