i'm with the transit planning group at sfmta. i would like to share an updated proposal on 17th at taraval, near the safeway on that street. i think most of you are familiar with the project at this point. to refresh everyone's memory, it's a broader state of repair that will replace all the track and utility on taraval street and improve safety and reliability for the 33,000 daily riders. as you will recall, taraval is a high-injury street for pedestrians. part of the 12% of streets in san francisco, where over 70% of all collisions occur. half the people injured were stepping off a muni train in traffic when a vehicle failed to yield. it was a unique condition, where people were stepping off into traffic. we've worked extensively with the community to develop a proposal to meet the transit and reliability goals. after a year of extensive outreach, the m.t.a. board approved the project in september, 2016. the key developments were improving safety for people on trains, transit stop changes to improve transit-only lanes that allo

i can tell you not to shift the conversation away from the sfmta. i know the planning department has had some issues in the past where there's been some noticing that were missed based on deadlines, if it was internal or if it had to do with missing the deadlines, the publication based on the examiner. i think that we need to approach this conversation based on how we can expand noticing. i understand the arguments that supervisor peskin made about including this as a city that's a paper as a half. i think that's an important thing as well. i certainly want to see us have more options but i think what we are trying to do and i think supervisor ronen put this forward, we are trying to have more flexibility for the departments that are there. i don't think necessarily that expanding notification into more than one publication is going to limit people's ability to have access to that notification. so i would be for the original proposal amendment. i wouldn't necessarily want to constrict this so much. i like -- excuse me, deputy attorney gibner said in

back in november 2012, the sfmta board of directors unanimously passed a resolution supporting this salethe yard and the director of transportation to work with moe and other agencies, including real estate, to advance such sale. the property is currently used as a parking lot for employees. and shortly after that resolution an appraisal was completed and valued the property at $6.15 million. and that was conducted in november 2012 when the departments got together to try to negotiate an m.o.u. the m.o.u. was finalized back in 2014 after several due diligence and whether moe could actually build and who would be funding it and how it would be funded and who would be the contractor. the parties came to the m.o.u. and the terms and the final price of $6.15 million. and although an appraisal wasn't done by code it was done by agreement of the parties. after the negotiations were completing, a new m.o.u. was made in 2016, i believe, -- or 2014, just to continue the due diligence by moe. and including coming to terms with bart which is right next door on a 30-foot no fill easement that moe ne

my colleagues from sfmta who are doing work specifically to address reducing speeds around areas where seniors are most likely to be and our broad communications efforts that you have seen everywhere i hope and additionally we have been joined by the district attorney office and i noted on my commute in their banner is everywhere so i'excited to hear about their programs. so i am going to introduce commander yuin and talk about our enforcement program. so, thank you. >> hello, supervisors, how are you. so i'm going to talk about really this year's fatalities. i understand that 2014 to 2018 is what you're looking for. we will work with vision zero to have that for next week for the t.a. hearing. so the overall -- i have been here for about a year, 2017, i looked at and 2018, and, you know, a lot of the causes of the collisions are turning and speed. i understand that you want information in regards to where people are heading to and coming from. that is definitely something that we will look into. because i know that senior centers are definitely one of the subjects that we want to look
