to the extent sfmta is trying to fill budget holes is the amount material to sfmta's budget? my understanding is we're talking about a small number of permits, at 300 or 400 permits. finally, and this is relevant to what you're talking about, commissioner huie. if the fees are material, has sfmta considered identifying other sources of revenue other than small businesses? as one example i will note that e-commerce companies, particularly those that run the gamut from a to z seem to have trucks all over this city and are running healthy and profitable businesses that are putting small businesses out of business. i have no doubt if these small businesses got these loading zone permits that these trucks would happily roll-up into these permits for delivering their e-commerce goods. what, if anything, is sfmta doing to collect or could they collect delivery fees from companies that are primarily engaged in the business of delivering goods that compete with small businesses. again, traffic engineer with the sfmta.ut the engineering of streets and the impacts of stunt driving on them. as we've discussed this is a -- issue, which is important, because the participants are basically going from city to city looking for locations to do these events and san francisco being the heart of the bay area in terms of media and other issues, can result in activity here. but it's happening elsewhere as well, so a coordinating effort is necessary. this is not a new issue but we at the m.t.a. have seen increasing need to repaint the crosswalks following these type of sideshow events, which as supervisor safai noted, costs the public and the taxpayers and detracts from the m.t.a. being able to attend to other more important needs. i wanted to distinguish between different type of stunts. one of them is the traditional doughnut that can happen basically at any intersection. it can happen at residential streets, quiet streets with one lane in each direction. and they are very hard to control in the sense that they
