to the extent sfmta is trying to fill budget holes is the amount material to sfmta's budget? my understanding is we're talking about a small number of permits, at 300 or 400 permits. finally, and this is relevant to what you're talking about, commissioner huie. if the fees are material, has sfmta considered identifying other sources of revenue other than small businesses? as one example i will note that e-commerce companies, particularly those that run the gamut from a to z seem to have trucks all over this city and are running healthy and profitable businesses that are putting small businesses out of business. i have no doubt if these small businesses got these loading zone permits that these trucks would happily roll-up into these permits for delivering their e-commerce goods. what, if anything, is sfmta doing to collect or could they collect delivery fees from companies that are primarily engaged in the business of delivering goods that compete with small businesses.
