the following quotes are from sfmta. trolley buses are more energy efficient and operate better on hills, require less maintenance and are longer lasting than motor buses. and our trolley coaches are the only coaches that can successfully navigate san francisco's difficult topography. unquote. a temporary solution could be to have the trolley bus on a loop from 9th to quintara and 14th but the preferred remedy is to restore the number 6 to its pre-pandemic route along with all the other routes. thank you. your two minutes begins now. >> hello, commissioners, good morning. this is scott feeney. san francisco resident and i'm calling to put in a word for the 6 parnassus in ashbury heights. this -- part of the 6 route would be removed in ashbury heights going on parnassus to clayton and up to frederick under both the frequent and hybrid alternatives. the route is as it is for a reason. it runs along a rich line and provides access into upper neighborhoods further up the hills in -- in ashbury heights and buena vista heights

i see my neighbor steven chun who now works for the sfmta and it's so great. right to the giants game. it was safe. it was reliable. it was frequent. we want it to be reliable. we want it to be frequent and we are very lucky we had that experience the other day. this morning, i rode the 49 in. and, again, it was an easy thing to do. but, i do want to mention something about families and transit because you cannot ignore the fact that it is very difficult for families who have kids to get around the city especially when you have two different school, two different droppoff times, sports, there's so much that families face when it comes to making sure transit can work into their lives. so let's not forget the families in san francisco. i know my former boss used to say transit first does not mean transit last. i want to thank everybody for your continued focus on transit. we are a first class city. we need a first class transit. so thank you for continuing to be here and thank you for your focus on that. happy transit month. >> hello transit riders. i am dean pr

appreciate the hard work that sfmta and director tumlin are doing. these are important vehicles for our fleet. thank you. >> chair haney: great. supervisor mar? >> supervisor mar: thank you. thank you to all the sfmta staff working on this incredibly important project replacing our l.r.v. fleet in the city. this is extremely important in particular in my district. it's something we relay on the l and n line to get to work and get around. i'm trying to understand a little bit better the purchase plan and the timeline and the financing for it. it's a little confusing because there's the phases and options and expansion and replacement. as of now, phase 1 -- completed >> yes, the original contract included 24 vehicles at the time of central subway. the first 68 vehicles are all here and they are all expansion vehicles. we have received last week the first replacement vehicle. it's the first of 151 as you described. the option before you today will be the 30 expansion vehicles that will come after the replacement vehicles are completed. >> supervisor mar
